My apologies for the overly blue photos.  I was not aware that my camera color overcompensated with blues during the entire weekend.  It is very apparent in the photos of this event

This is where the scenes were shot for the opening/closing credits of Gilligan's Island.

See two sets on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmBIWMA0ex8&t=35s

There's the American Legion.  Can you see it?  Me neither.

John Wayne's Wild Goose again

Little story.  Jack toted five of us from the hotel to this event in his car.  I had my handicap placard so he could get a handicap place to park (there were two of us who are handicapped).  None of us noticed where we parked until end of event.

More Tidbits About the Area

John Wayne's Wild Goose" yacht has been restored and you can rent it for a mere $25 per person with a 10-guest minimum (per the website) -- over 30 the price changes and the max is 124 guests.

John Wayne's home was demolished (according to a cruise director) because of termites, and the new owner (Conroy's flower empire) build his home on the site and has a 3-foot-high memorial to the "Duke in the side yard.

Nicholas Cage sold his home on the island after waking up to a nude man at the end of his bed (according to a cruise director) who wanted an autograph.

Published facts were not found for the following tidbit, but the story goes that Roy Rogers (living on Lido Island) had Trigger stuffed and standing at a window so people would stop and take photos.  Roy encouraged this even to the point of putting Christmas lights on the horse and a tree around his neck.  The community voted to ask him to leave the island and sell the house and the story goes that the island has voted that no celebrity can live there.  Apparently, this island has an association that the majority rules on who can and cannot live there and what they want to keep low key.
